Before we start
Welcome to this Akashic Records challenge!
For those who don’t really know me yet, I’m Mariëlle S. Smith, I’m a certified Akashic Records Master Practitioner, and I’ll be acting as your guide this month.
How does this challenge work?
Every day for the next thirty-one days, much like I’d do with a tarot challenge, I’ll be posting a new prompt on Instagram, Substack, and my website. On Instagram, the guided meditation (which will be the same recording every day), which will take you into your Akashic Records so you can do the prompt, will be part of the post. On Substack and my website, the guided meditation is posted separately and can be paused if you need more time to complete the prompt – the guided meditation gives you five minutes every day, which might not always be enough.
You don’t need any prior experience with the Akashic Records to participate in this challenge, although some experience with guided meditations and visualisations might come in handy.
During this month-long journey, we’ll be working with past lives, our ancestors, and potential future timelines. Don’t let that knowledge overwhelm you, though. We’re taking it one day at a time, and you’ll be guided every step of the way. I’m also only a DM, comment, or e-mail away, so if anything shows up that you want to share or have questions about, I’m here for you.
The Akashic Records
The Akashic Records tend to be described as a metaphysical library where all information about our souls and their journeys are archived. Everything we did, are doing, and might potentially do in the future can be found within the Records.
That said, the Akashic Records are more than a ‘mere’ library. It’s also a place where deep and profound healing can take place, as you’ll discover this month.
With the right tools, anyone can tap into their own Akashic Records and access information about their own soul and its specific path in each of its lifetimes. The guided meditation I wrote for this challenge is one of those tools.
What you need to know before you go into your own Records is that different people receive information from the Akashic Records in different ways. You could see things, hear things, feel things, or suddenly know things. It can also be a little bit of everything: you see something, and then you just know something about it, and then you hear a certain phrase and get goosebumps along your left thigh. It’s all possible, so try to remain open and take whatever it is you’ll be seeing, hearing, feeling, or knowing seriously. It might not always add up immediately, but that doesn’t mean you didn’t receive it from the Records or that its significance won’t become clear later on.
When you work with the Records, it’s advisable to not indulge in any alcohol or other substances at least twenty-four hours before entering the Records. As someone who rarely drinks, I often forget to mention this, but it muddies our connection to the Divine and affects our ability to be the clearest channel we can be.
Now you have a basic understanding of the Akashic Records, I invite you to check out the prompt for Day 1 below.

Day 1
Entering your Akashic Records
Welcome to Day 1! Today, we’re starting with simply entering the Akashic Records and noticing what is there.
Here’s your prompt:
Where are you? What kind of place is it? Take your time noticing your surroundings. Don’t forget to turn around and look behind you. What do you notice about this place? Does anything stand out? How would you describe this place to someone else?
If you’re not seeing anything clearly, that’s OK. Can you tell whether it’s light or dark? Do you see any colours? If no, just shift to your other senses. Can you hear anything? Do you sense anything?
If the answer is still ‘No’, know that that’s all right. The Akashic field has a much higher frequency than humans tend to have, so your energy might have to calibrate a little before you can receive messages. You can either try this meditation again later today or just continue with Day 2 tomorrow. There’s no harm in either option.
Day 2
Why do my Records look like this?
Welcome back! Today’s our second day, and it’s the first day you’ll be asking a question to your Record Keepers directly.
Here’s your prompt:
Your Akashic Records are being kept by different types of keepers, but, for the purpose of this challenge, there’s no need to know who you are addressing when asking your questions. Just ask it, and allow the answer to come to you, in whichever way it needs to.
Ask the Record Keepers: Why do my Records look like this to me? Does it have any significance you want me to be aware of?
Day 3
Meeting the Record Keepers
Welcome to Day 3! Today, you’ll be meeting at least one of your Record Keepers, and here’s the prompt to do so:
Ask to meet whomever of your Record Keepers are willing to meet with you today. Once they’ve joined you, ask each of them to introduce themselves and tell you what they’re here to help you with.
When you’re ready, thank them for joining you and sharing this information with you today.
Day 4
Exploring your book
Within the Akashic Records, every soul has their own book that’s been chronicling their entire soul’s journey. Today, you’ll be checking out yours with the following prompt:
Now you’ve met at least one of your Record Keepers, ask them to bring you to your book. Once you have it, take a close look at it. What does your book look like? Is it old or does it look brand-new? Is it a massive volume or rather slim? Is it clean or dirty? What’s the binding like? What is it made of? How many pages does it have? How many of those pages are already filled with writing? How many are left?
When you’re done, hold your book between the palms of your hands and ask the Record Keepers to channel any healing energy you have within you – whether it’s already been activated or still lying dormant – into your book to start the process of clearing out anything that isn’t for the highest good of you and your soul. Give this as long as it needs.
When you’re ready to leave, ask the Record Keepers where to place it. Don’t be surprised if they tell you to leave it out there, because you’ll be using it again.
Day 5
What is my creative purpose this lifetime?
It’s our fifth day, and today we’re going to ask about our creative purpose. Are you ready for this?
Here’s your prompt:
Go back to the place you left your book in yesterday. Now you have your book in front of you, ask the Record Keepers: What is my creative purpose this lifetime?
To receive the answer to this question, you might be guided to open your book and ‘read’ its contents. If that’s the case, write down whatever you find inside of it.
You might also receive the answer directly from the Akashic field without you needing your book. There’s no right or wrong to this. You might never need to ‘read’ your book to communicate with the Record Keepers, or you might be handed the book on some days after asking a question, while you aren’t on others. There are many different ways the Record Keepers can communicate with us, and our book is one of those.
From now on, when you feel the need to get your book before following the prompt, do so. If you never feel the need, that’s fine too. If you really do need to work with your book for one of the prompts, the Record Keepers will hand it you.
When you do work with your book, don’t forget to close it (unless it doesn’t want to be closed) and leave it where it wants to be left.
Day 6
Why did I pick this creative purpose this reincarnation?
Welcome back <3 I truly hope you’re enjoying yourself on this journey, and I’d love to hear from you if you are (or aren’t, of course).
Today, we’re going to ask about the why behind our creative purpose with the following prompt:
If you feel the need to go grab your book, do so. If you don’t, just continue with the question.
Ask the Record Keepers: Why did I pick this creative purpose this reincarnation?
Day 7
What does my creative purpose contribute to on a personal level?
Welcome to Day 7 <3 Today, we’re diving a little deeper into our creative purpose and the why behind picking it for this lifetime.
Here’s your prompt:
Ask the Records Keepers: What does my creative purpose contribute to on a personal level?
Day 8
What does my creative purpose contribute to on a collective level?
It’s Day 8, which means that you’ve made it through the first week of explorations and queries. Today’s question is similar to yesterday’s, but it focuses on the collective instead.
Here’s your prompt:
Ask the Record Keepers: What does my creative purpose contribute to on a collective level?
Day 9
A sacred pause
Today, we’re taking a sacred pause to check in with ourselves and integrate any information and healing that has already started for us.
Here’s your prompt:
What emotions have been coming up for you over the past couple of days, once we’ve started talking about your creative purpose? Take a moment to assess.
If you’ve been experiencing any negative emotions, or emotions that you regard as negative in this moment, ask the Record Keepers how you can best release these emotions.
If you’ve been feeling any emotions that could be described as positive, ask the Record Keepers what you could do to amplify these emotions even further.
Don’t forget to make time to do what the Record Keepers suggested to you.
Day 10
Are there any blocks I need to heal or release to fulfil my creative purpose in this lifetime?
Welcome to Day 10. We’re already a third in, and today we’re looking at any blocks or barriers you might have when it comes to your creative purpose.
Here’s your prompt:
Ask the Record Keepers: Are there any blocks or barriers I need to heal or release to fulfil my creative purpose in this lifetime?
If the answer is ‘Yes’, ask the Record Keepers to show you exactly what’s between you and fulfilling your creative purpose. Keep going until they’ve shown you all the blocks and barriers.
Day 11
What is at the root of this?
Today, on Day 11, we’re diving a little deeper into those blocks and barriers that showed up yesterday.
Here’s your prompt:
Ask the Record Keepers: What is at the very root of this block/these blocks? Where did it all start?
Depending on how many blocks and barriers showed up for you, this might take some time. If it’s too much to receive it all in one go, know that you can always come back later today to complete the prompt.
Day 12
Did I have the same creative purpose in a previous lifetime?
Welcome back! I hope you’re ready to delve into past lifetimes, because that’s what we’ll be doing today.
Here’s your prompt:
Ask the Record Keepers: Did I have the same, or a similar enough, creative purpose in one or more previous lifetimes?
If the answer is ‘Yes’, ask the Record Keepers to show you this or these lifetime(s).
Don’t ask for any more information yet. Just write down the bare minimum you need to know right now about this life or these lifetimes. We’ll dive deeper into this over the next couple of days.
Day 13
Is there anything I have yet to release or heal that stems from this/these lifetime(s)?
Welcome to Day 13! Today, we’ll be focusing on what has yet to be released from the lifetime(s) you were shown yesterday.
Here’s your prompt:
Ask the Record Keepers: Is there anything I have yet to release or heal that stems from this/these lifetime(s)?
If the answer is ‘Yes’, ask the Record Keepers to show you what that is. Keep going, if necessary, until they’ve shown you all of it.
Day 14
How do I release or heal this?
Glad you made it back! Today, we’ll be looking into solving those blocks and barriers our soul’s been carrying since they first originated so we can put a stop to them.
Here’s your prompt:
Ask the Record Keepers: How do I release or heal these blocks and barriers?
Take your time here, and don’t hesitate to ask for clarification or some practical, actionable steps if you’re not given any.
If the timeline isn’t clear when it comes to doing these steps, ask the Record Keepers when you should do which step.
Day 15
What lessons did I learn back then that I need to remember now?
Day 15 is here, which means we’re about halfway there! Now we’ve started the process of releasing and healing those past blocks and barriers, it’s time to see whether our previous incarnations have any wisdom to share with us.
Here’s your prompt:
Ask the Record Keepers: What lessons did I learn back then (in each of these lifetimes) that I need to remember now?
Again, take your time here. If it feels right to you, you could also invite those previous incarnations of yourself into your Records and ask them directly what they’ve already learned. If there’s a table or a nice sitting area or something like that in your Records, you could ask them to join you there. If you try this, don’t forget to thank them for their presence before sending them on their way.
Day 16
A sacred pause
After yesterday, it’s time for another sacred pause and here’s your prompt for that:
Take a couple of deep breaths as you centre yourself. Ask the Record Keepers to help you fully integrate the lessons that came up for you yesterday, and to help you process anything you’ve learned and have started to heal and release ever since this challenge started.
Take as much time as you need here, and don’t forget to write down anything that came through during the integration that might be relevant.
Day 17
Did any of my ancestors have the same creative purpose I have?
It’s Day 17, and today we’re moving from our past selves to our ancestral past.
Here’s your prompt:
Ask the Record Keepers: Did any of my ancestors have the same, or a similar enough, creative purpose I have?
If the answer is ‘Yes’, ask this or these ancestor(s) to join you in the Records. If you haven’t found a nice, comfortable sitting area in your Records yet, go look for one now because we want to invite them and then ask them to stay with us for the next couple of days.
If they don’t want to, that’s OK. You can just invite them back in the next day.
Once they’re seated, give them a chance to introduce themselves. After asking them whether there is anything they need right now, you can leave your Records with the promise you’ll be returning tomorrow.
Day 18
Did any of my ancestors have the same blocks I have?
Today, on Day 18, we’re continuing our ancestral work.
Here’s your prompt:
Before you ask today’s question, check in with your ancestors. Are they still seated in the same spot? Did some leave your Records? If yes, ask them to join you once more so you can ask the Record Keepers:
Did any of my ancestors have the same blocks and barriers to their creative purpose that I’ve been facing this lifetime?
Of course, since your ancestors are with you right now, you can also ask them directly. The choice is yours.
If the answer is ‘Yes’, ask either the Record Keepers of your ancestors which blocks and barriers these are. Make a list if you need to.
Once you’ve gathered all the information that needed to come through today, thank your ancestors for everything you’ve learned thus far and tell them you’ll be back tomorrow.
Day 19
What did my ancestors do to overcome these blocks?
It’s Day 19, and we’re back to continue our conversation with those ancestors who’ve shared our creative purpose or one that’s similar to ours.
Here’s your prompt:
Again, check in with your ancestors and make sure they’ve all gathered in the same spot again before you ask today’s question.
When you’re ready, ask the Record Keepers (or your ancestors directly): What did my ancestors do to overcome these barriers?
Take all the time you need here, and don’t be afraid to ask for more details if you need to.
When you’re done, thank your ancestors once again and tell them you’ll see them the next day.
Day 20
Which of these blocks still need to be healed or released?
Welcome back! Today, we’re looking into the blocks and barriers that still need to be healed or released because they’ve been passed down to us and are affecting our creative lives.
Here’s your prompt:
Make sure all your ancestors with that same creative purpose as you are present and that they’re doing OK. If they don’t, just ask them what they need and if there’s anything you can do for them.
When you’re ready, ask the Record Keepers (or your ancestors directly): Which of these blocks and barriers still need to be healed or released?
When you’re ready, when it’s clear to you which of these blocks and barriers still need work, thank your ancestors for their help thus far and remind them you’ll be back tomorrow.
Day 21
What do my ancestors need to fully heal or release this?
It’s Day 21, which means two-thirds of the challenge are already done. What do you make of it thus far? How’s the journey been for you?
Here’s your prompt:
Once again, make sure you gather those same ancestors you’ve been working with before asking them, or the Record Keepers: What do each of these ancestors need to finally be able to heal or release this block or barrier?
One by one, give your ancestor what they need, if you can. Feel free to ask the Record Keepers to assist you with this and offer guidance.
When you’re done, give thanks again to your ancestors for being willing to do this work with you. You’ll be seeing them again tomorrow.
Day 22
A sacred pause
Today, the twenty-second day of this challenge, we’ll have another sacred pause.
Here’s your prompt:
When you call in your ancestors today, make sure to ask them about the blocks and barriers you’ve worked on yesterday. How are they doing, and how are they now feeling about what was in their way?
If nothing has shifted, ask the Record Keepers to send more healing and clearing energy to those blocks and barriers. Give them the time they need to do so before saying goodbye to your ancestors again with the promise to return the next day.
Day 23
What do my ancestors want for me and my creative purpose?
Here we go again! I hope you’re ready for some more ancestral healing? This time, we’re focusing on us though, and not on them 😉
Here’s your prompt:
Once you’ve gathered all those ancestors again, ask your Record Keepers (or your ancestors directly): What do my ancestors want for me and my creative purpose?
If they all want something (slightly) different, just write it down, all of it, before thanking them and preparing to leave your Records.
Day 24
What advice do my ancestors have for me?
Welcome to Day 24! After today, there’s only a week left.
Here’s today’s prompt:
Once you’ve got all those ancestors back together and checked in with them, ask your Record Keepers (or your ancestors directly): What advice do my ancestors have for me that will help me fulfil my creative purpose in this lifetime?
Again, write everything down they’re willing to share with you. Before you leave your Records today, remember to show them gratitude for showing up for you and joining you on this healing journey.
Day 25
A sacred pause
Today’s another sacred pause day so we can (begin to) integrate the advice our ancestors had for us yesterday.
Here’s your prompt:
Today, it’s optional whether or not you gather your ancestors. If giving them a break feels right, let them be. If they’d rather be with you, that’s fine too.
When you’re ready, ask your Record Keepers to help you integrate each piece of advice you received yesterday.
Take as long as you need. There’s no right or wrong to this; allow yourself to follow your gut. You can also ask your Record Keepers to give you a sign or tell you when they’ve done their part.
If any of your ancestors stuck around for today’s integration, don’t forget to say goodbye and that you’ll see them tomorrow for the last part of this ancestral healing journey.
Day 26
Which of my ancestors would make a great creative guide?
Today’s Day 26, and it’s the last day we’ll be spending time with our ancestors. Within the confines of this challenge, that is.
Here’s your prompt:
Today, you can either invite all those ancestors you’ve been working with over the past ten days, or you can ask the Record Keepers to bring forth only those of them who would love to be your creative guide from this day onwards.
Whichever option you decide to go with, allow those ancestors – the ones who want to become your creative guide – to make themselves known. This could be one ancestor, three of them, the whole bunch. Take a deep breath and let whatever needs to happen in this moment happen.
Once it’s clear who’ll be guiding you from now on, ask them directly why they feel called to be your guide and how they intend to fulfil this role. If asking the Record Keepers has wielded better results for you, ask them, per ancestor who stepped forwards: Why does this ancestor feel called to be my guide, and how do they intend to fulfil this role?
When you’re ready, thank all your ancestors for everything they’ve given you over the past ten days. Allow those who want to return to where they came from to do so, and those who want to stay by your side (for now) to do so as well.
Day 27
Which of my own blocks still have to be healed or released?
We’re nearing the end of this challenge, which means it’s time to check in with the blocks and barriers we uncovered on Day 10. Before you dive into the prompt, go back to that day and reflect on what came through for you.
Here’s today’s prompt:
Over the past twenty-seven days, you’ve done an enormous amount of deep work. Because of that, it’s possible that some of the blocks and barriers that came up for you earlier have already been resolved or are in the process of being resolved.
Ask your Record Keepers: Which of the blocks and barriers that showed up for me on Day 10 have yet to be healed or released?
Try not to judge the blocks that are left; there’s time still to do deep work with them before the challenge comes to an end. In fact, that’s what we’ll start working on tomorrow.
Day 28
How will I be healing and releasing these blocks in the future?
Day 28 is here, which means that we’ll be meeting with a future version of ourselves today. And no, I have not lost the plot: time doesn’t exist within the Records so we can meet both with our past selves and potential future selves.
Here’s today’s prompt:
Ask your Record Keepers to invite a future version of yourself who’s already overcome all those blocks and barriers you still need to heal and release. Once you have this version of yourself in front of you, take a good look at them.
What do they look like? What energy are they emitting?
Once you’ve taken your fill, ask them how they healed and released these remaining blocks and barriers.
If you’d rather ask your Record Keepers, phrase it as such: How did this future version of myself heal and release these remaining blocks and barriers?
Don’t forget to ask them to be as specific as they can be, and to ask for actionable steps if they’re not providing you with enough of those.
When you’re done, thank them for their time and help and allow them to be on their way.
Day 29
Where am I in relation to my future self?
Welcome back, and kudos to you for still going strong! Today, we’re working with that future version of ourselves again.
Here’s your prompt:
Ask the Record Keepers to show you the timeline between where you are right now and where that future version of yourself you’ve met with yesterday is. What’s is the distance between you?
Try to observe without judgement.
If you feel a pull to decrease that distance, ask the Record Keepers: Is it for my highest good to bridge that gap faster than the current timeline indicates?
If the answer is ‘Yes’, ask the Record Keepers how to go about that. If the answer is ‘No’, take a deep breath and let it be. It merely means you are already going at this at the exact right pace for you, which is a beautiful thing.
Day 30
What other advice do I need to receive?
We’re almost there! Are you ready to wrap this journey up?
Before you start today’s guided meditation, gather every single note you’ve taken over the past month and read through them. What do you notice? What stands out? What surprised you? What will you need to return to at a later date? Journal about it and reflect before going into the Akashic Records.
Here’s your prompt:
Ask the Record Keepers: What other advice do you have for me about my creative purpose and fulfilling it during this lifetime?
Day 31
A sacred pause
Here we are! The final day of this challenge!
Today, we’ll be taking one more sacred pause to allow everything that has come through over the past month to fully sink in.
Here’s your prompt:
Make yourself as comfortable as possible. While you might receive information you’d like to write down and remember, it’s absolutely OK to lie down for today’s journey.
Once you’re comfortable, ask the Record Keepers to heal everything they are able to heal right now, and to support the integration of all the information, healing, and wisdom you’ve received over the last thirty days.
Give yourself at least fifteen minutes to receive this healing and support, so do pause the recording or turn your sound off if you’re listening on Instagram.
When you’re ready, take a moment to thank everyone, including your past and future selves AND your current self, for showing up for you this month. You’ve done some amazing, intense, and vulnerable work that takes courage, persistence, and determination, and you should be proud of yourself for sticking to it. If you aren’t, know that I’m proud enough of you for the both of us <3
